Siege of Orgrimmar: The Fallen Protectors

Siege of Orgrimmar Boss #2: The Fallen Protectors

The Fallen ProtectorsThe Fallen Protectors are: Rook Stoneto, Sun Tenderheart, He Softfoot. These bosses do not share a healthpool but you still have to DPS them at the same time. The fight goes in three cycles: bring each to 66%, then kill adds. Bring each to 33% and then kill adds. Finish them off.

The add phase is Desperate Measures and while you can  bring them all down at the same time such that they launch their Desperate Measures at the same time, this is not a good idea and will probably wipe the raid. It’s best to do them sequentially. On Normal, when the boss summons his add, he goes inactive, freeing a tank to tank an add. The other bosses are still active, so they still do their normal abilities like Sha Sear and Gouge.

At the end you want to try to “kill” all three at the same time. They don’t actually die, and at minimum health will start casting a heal. Drop them all down at the same time to minimum HP and you’re done. If one gets to 1% and the others don’t then they will heal all to 20%. You will have 15 seconds to do this once any one of them hits minimum health, as that’s the cast time of the heal.

Quick and Dirty:

You will want two tanks, 2-3 healers, and the rest DPS.

  • Kill order: Rook to 66%, kill adds (Gloom first). He to 66%, kill adds. Sun to 66% kill adds. Repeat, but with 33% instead.
    • The raid leader should call out and mark targets.
    • Tanks should decide who will take Rook and who will take He. At adds phase (66% and 33% of boss health), pick up the adds your boss spawns.
  • They’ll try to res each other if one hits 1 health, keep an eye on that. Burn them all down at the same rate and at the same time for the final phase. Cast time for the heal, once one of them is at minimum, is 15 seconds so get them all down in that time.
  • Don’t stand in bad. There’s a lot of bad. Don’t stand in any of it.
  • When a yellow circle appears on a player, stack in the circle. It shares damage.
  • When the bubble appears, stand in it.
  • Face away from He on Gouge.
  • Tanks should use a cooldown for Rook’s Vengeful Strikes.

Abilities and Notes

Rook Stonetoe – Warrior/Monk

Tanking Rook: Face him away from the raid. During his add phase, while picking up the adds, know that Misery spawns fire (Defiled Ground)

Rook summons 3 types of adds, Misery, Sorrow, and Gloom. The tank of Rook must pick up Misery and again face him away, because he does a slam cleave, which in addition spawns death zones with the slam. Sorrow casts a huge meteor that forces all non-tanks to stack together. Gloom casts a spell that forces you to spread out. Since Gloom and Sun both want you to spread, Sorrow is the only thing forcing you guys to stack. Take him out ASAP so you can stay spread like normal in order. After Sorrow, burn the Gloom, then the Misery. After killing all adds, phase returns to normal.

Sun Tenderheart – Caster

Healers: Dispell Sun’s debuff (Shadow Word: Bane)

Her add phase is the easiest. She summons a bubble that everyone runs in, and a bunch of ambient damage to the whole raid goes on. Everyone, tanks included, runs into the bubble (be careful about dropping the slams and the poison pools), and the healers heal the hell out of everybody. She summons two adds, both of which will summon swarms of adds. Whenever the swarmers die, the damage is reflected back to the spawners, therefore, the be efficient at ending this phase, simply murder all of the spawned adds, which’ll basically double your damage to the spawners and end the phase once enough are killed.

He Softfoot – Rogue

Tanking He: Turn away from him when he tries to Gouge you. Watch out for poison on the ground. During add phase, yell to raid for whoever has the Mark of Anguish to pass it to you AND NOT THE TANK ON ROOK.

DPS: You’re the key to the fight. Down each boss in sequence, and during add phase, make sure the adds die ASAP. Don’t DPS on a boss during the add phase. Once all bosses are down to 33% (no more adds phase), burn the 3 bosses as evenly as possible. Might want to save your Hero/equivalent spell for the last 5-10% so that all 3 die at the same time. When one hits minimum health they will start to cast Bond of the Golden Lotus and will heal each other to 20%. Cast time is 15 seconds, so burn them down within this time.
