This is the archive page for the Cataclysm leveling builds for Beast Mastery and Marksmanship Hunters, for the 4.3 patch. These builds are obsolete with Mists of Pandaria, but otherwise might be of interest to someone, especially if you’re playing on a system that has not upgraded to Mists.

For the current info, see any of the spec pages from the menu above, our Mists of Panadaria Hunter Leveling page, or our overview of the Hunter in M of P covering abilities, glyphs, the new talents, etc.

Cataclysm Beast Mastery Leveling Spec

  • Intimidation – Your pet intimidates the target, causing a great deal of threat and brieflystunning it. This is a very nice tanking ability. Intimidation makes it extremely easy for you to go all out as your pet will likely be capable of keeping the attentions of everything you fight.
  • Animal Handler – Increases your damage.
  • Mastery: Master of Beasts – (gained from your trainer at level 80) increases the damage done by your pets. Stacking more Mastery Rating will increase this damage.
